Stone Oak Living means luxury living in the most beautiful area of San Antonio. Water is an essential component of life. To keep things beautiful in our city, we need to conserve water. Thankfully, the San Antonio Water System (SAWS) has a plan in place to help you reduce your San Antonio home water usage this summer. But you only have until the end of May to sign up for this free service. So, act now to start saving tomorrow.

How to Reduce Your Home Water Usage

Search homes for sale in the San Antonio areaSAWS offers a new program called WaterSmart. A free service, WaterSmart allows you, a San Antonio homeowner, the opportunity to monitor how much water you use each month, see what your neighbors in the Stone Oak Living community use in comparison, and offer free advice on the areas you need to concentrate to reduce your water usage. SAWS customers can access their personal accounts through their PC, tablet, or smartphone at any time. Simply fill out the SAWS WaterSmart form online to get started today. This free program is only available for a few more days. Don't miss your chance to take advantage of what it has to offer.

Since watering takes up a large portion of any San Antonio home's water usage, replacing your current lawn with more drought-tolerant plants or a permeable patio may be the way to go. However, this costs money. Fortunately, SAWS wants to help. Until the end of May 2018, they're offering residents $100 and $200 coupons to help offset the cost of changing your landscape or adding a patio. Just visit the Garden Style San Antonio website here to sign up for your coupons today. But do it as soon as possible. This offer goes away after May 31st.

San Antonio Stage 1 Drought Restrictions in Effect

Yesterday, the City of San Antonio announced that Stage 1 Drought Restrictions are now in full effect for residents. This happens any time aquifers drop below 660 feet on average during a 10-day period. The last 10-day monitoring period showed levels of 658.2 feet. What does this mean for San Antonio residents? You may water your lawn and shrubs just one day a week until further notice. It must be done before 11 am or after 7 pm. No sprinklers can be run between 11 am or 7 pm any day of the week. All watering must be done before midnight on your designated day. Sprinklers cannot be run overnight. Your designated day depends upon the last number of your address.

  • Mondays - address ends in 0 or 1
  • Tuesdays - address ends in 2 or 3
  • Wednesdays - address ends in 4 or 5
  • Thursdays - address ends in 6 or 7
  • Fridays - address ends in 8 or 9

Turning the water off when you brush your teeth. Limiting showers to five minutes or less. Only watering your lawn early in the morning or late at night (after the sun goes down).
